Psychoanalyst | The Queen of Self-Esteem | Founder of Don’t Trust the Mirror
Â
Maureen Kritzer-Lange doesn’t just work in mental health—she has lived it, studied it, challenged it, and reshaped it.
With over 25 years in private practice, Maureen is a psychoanalyst specializing in eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. She is known for her rare ability to combine clinical expertise with deep humanity—meeting women exactly where they are and helping them reclaim who they are meant to be.
What truly sets Maureen apart is her courage to turn lived experience into leadership.
Â
That transformation became the foundation of Don’t Trust the Mirror—a movement, platform, and philosophy built on one powerful truth: healing begins when women stop believing distorted narratives and start trusting themselves.
Â
Through her podcast, My Secret Life with an Eating Disorder, her forthcoming book, digital courses, and her 24/7 psycho-educational platform Don’t Trust The Mirror ON THE GO, Maureen dismantles shame and replaces it with self-esteem, voice, and agency.
Â
Professionally, Maureen holds a BS from Syracuse University’s New House School and a Master’s degree in Social Work from NYU. She is a certified psychoanalyst through the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ), where she also serves on the teaching faculty. She holds additional certification in Eating Disorders, Compulsions, and Addictions from the William Alanson White Institute.
Â
She is the former President of the Eating Disorders Association of New Jersey, a published contributor to The Huffington Post, and a sought-after speaker and educator, presenting at institutions including Rutgers University and national organizations.
Maureen’s work extends beyond the therapy room—through global digital education, social platforms, and community-building initiatives, she reaches women worldwide with one mission:
Â
To help woman break free from shame, reclaim their voice, and rebuild their lives with self-worth and clarity.
Maureen Kritzer-Lange doesn’t just help women heal—she helps them come home to themselves.
